A$AP Rocky “Pretty Flacko” Posted: 03 Jan 2012 06:10 PM PST Coming off a breakout 2011 that had damn near every other music fan with an Internet connection adopting “Everything is purple” as their personal life mantra for the moment, it’s safe to say that there are plenty of eyes and ears on A$AP Rocky these days anticipating another strong year filled with more cloud-hazed anthems birthed from the heavily buzzed-about hip hop newcomer’s Houston-by-way-of-Harlem swag. On New Year’s Day, Rocky made the first step into making that public desire a reality by releasing freebie offering (and early preview for the upcoming A$AP Mob album) “Pretty Flacko”, a typically bizarro, chopped-and-screwed-seasoned cut to make you feel like you’re high out of your mind without even having taken anything. Helmed by frequent collaborator SpaceGhostPurrp whose woozy beat here is based around noises that could best be described as two “gotten lit” whales having orgasms underwater, the tune finds the self-proclaimed “pretty muthafucka” premiering alter-ego ‘Pretty Flacko’, a cool cat rocking an “iPhone full of freak hoes” with the mission to get any and all “trill” folk “muthafuckin’ hands up”…which, to our brains, seems no different a personality from regular Rocky, but perhaps that’s just a sign that we’re nowhere near “trill” enough and should probably leave our hands down.
