Hot off the heels of her incredible last single MONSTER, comes another strong push at her audience in “Adelaide.” Through equal parts talent and sexy bitch, Myers exposes a sturdy backbone and brave temperament in this latest musical outing. “I wrote Adelaide toward the end of a 3 year relationship,” Meg tells us. “Adelaide represents the side of me that was too coward and blind to leave an emotionally abusive relationship. In the verses I’m speaking to myself and in the chorus and bridge I’m speaking to him.” What Meg doesn’t say is that the song speaks to her audience all the more strongly because of her personal story. No reference to Adelaide would be complete without a tip of the hat to Doctor Rosen Rosen, as well. An apple a day has nothing on his hearty musical prescriptions. I’m currently hanging surveillance cameras to surround his recording studio. Everything out the door, this song included, is worth our full attention. Lana Del Rey: National Anthem Posted: 06 Jan 2012 02:44 PM PST The Interwebs’ hottest musical Femme Fatale, Lana Del Rey, must have quite the loose lipped team (pun intended, HAVE YOU SEEN THOSE BEAUTIES? Unanimous winner of Best Lips 2011 by KKS HQ), as leak after demo after leak has hit the net. The latest ‘National Anthem’ is the first track to really catch me since ‘Video Games’. (Sorry Brent please don’t beat me!) Her beautiful and unique voice sometimes doesn’t seem to fit the tempo of her music, but ‘National Anthem’ is brilliant. Lana channels a westcoast vibe that takes me back to the days when slow, soulful and gritty westcoast hip-hop ruled my radio – perfectly showcasing her brazenly seductive attitude. So take into account this is a leak and know the final mix will only be even more spectacular. Ok Miss Del Rey, you have finally done it, I am under your spell.
