They’ve got some crazy layered sound stuff going on, it’s two people, and mainly, they will be playing HUGE venues within a year. Think Moldy Peaches, rusty Wu-Tang beats, beautifully-passionate lyrics, Best Coast and wooden roller coaster tempo changes. This music has me ready to buy their record now. The band consists of Jordy Asher and Cari Rae and supposedly they’ve been playing music since… Thanksgiving…. This time out they shed a bit of the indie-rock feel for bubbly synths and a warm rock sound. Flex Fantasy will be the sophomore EP for New York’s joyous shoe-gazing band of musicans, AVAN LAVA. The are taking a shift more toward my end of the music spectrum with a more high-energy, upbeat pop sound. The full EP will be released on February 21st, though I am not sure I can wait til then…so Girlie team, help a brother out!
