Neverever – Wedding Day

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 11:42 PM PST

L.A.’s Neverever have caught my heart and soul with “Wedding Day” a delightful new tune from their upcoming EP, Shake-A-Baby.

The love between the bands very own Jihae and Wallace Meeks is crystal clear in many senses. This love felt quality is only heightened by the throwback stylings that would fit right in a 1960′s romance film. It’s catchy, romantic, and feel good. That’s true songwriting for ya.

Arches compiled footage from their fall tour for the music video for their “Late Last Night” single. It’s a video that shows the band hanging out, having a good time. It fit the mood of spending late nights out with your friends, making memories and forgetting all the rest.

“Late Last Night” is a part of a split 7″ release that Arches are releasing with White Laces. It’s available as a pre-order here. Watch the video below.

Today of Montreal released a free download of a new song called, “Wintered Debts”. It’s set to appear on the bands next album, Paralytic Stalks, due out sometime in 2012.

“Wintered Debts” is an epic 7-minute journey down the colorful rabbit hole that is Kevin Barnes’ mind. All of that feel good psych-goodness that earlier of Montreal gave you is packed tightly, ready for your mind to dissect.

Take a listen below. Think twice if you’re planning to only listen once.

[music video]: High Highs – Flowers Bloom

High Highs’ “Flowers Bloom” music video shows two lovers, passionately kissing over hazy screens. It works perfectly amongst the song which almost acts as their instructor. If you’re love-sick, this ain’t the video for you.

It’s taken from their self-titled EP, out tomorrow on Small Plates Records. Watch the video after the jump.

Gangrene is the collaborative project of rapper/producers Alchemist & Oh No. “Dump Truck” is the first single from their “psych-thug” concept album, Vodka & Ayahuaska, which drops January 24th on Decon Records.

“Dump Truck” is a raw track that flourishes under some tight production. It features Prodigy, from Mobb Deep. Take a listen below.

If you dig it, the song’s available to purchase on iTunes.

[new]: Yellow Ostrich – ‘Til I Disappear

Yellow Ostrich have released a new song called “‘Til I Disappear”. It’s a newly recorded version, sounding a lot different than the version found on 2010′s Wild Comfort.

The whole band plays a vital role on this song, giving it a complete feel. Alex breaks out a big guitar solo, leading the way for pretty epic finish that the song reaches for.

Download it below via You Aint No Picasso.

Deleted Scenes – Bedbedbedbedbed

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 02:07 PM PST

Washington D.C. has given us a very promising band in Deleted Scenes. The band released their sophomore album, Young People’s Church Of The Air, in September. I totally slept on it, and am only now reeling in the glory of “Bedbedbedbedbed”. It’s almost unfair to frontman Daniel Scheuerman how much he sounds like James Mercer, of The Shins. It’s a great thing, but I’m sure the guy has heard plenty of comparisons.

It’s a nice track that has a warm home-recorded quality to it that is absolutely perfect right now. I slept on these guys for way too long. It’s time to wake up.

[new]: Summer Fiction – Christmas Eve For Two

Summer Fiction are back in the game, giving away a new Christmas themed single called “Christmas Eve For Two” away for free. I’m not the type of guy who listens to Christmas music this early, I tend to wait until it’s the week of. However, I will make an exception for Summer Fiction.

It’s a more solemn take on Christmas cheer, given that it does have that warm Summer Fiction feel.

Here’s “Chandeliers” just because:

[new]: Kuhlamity – Dead.

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 11:32 AM PST

“Dead.” is the latest track from Kuhlamity’s upcoming album, Center Of A Tension. A smooth beat lays down the groudnwork for some chilling story telling that is done in Kamron’s usual smooth delivery. Like the rest of the album it was produced by BrandUn DeShay.

This is one of my favorite cuts from this young man so far. Look out for the rest of the album on December 7th. For now, check out “Dead.” below.

Fleet Foxes have released a stunning music video for “The Shrine / An Argument”. It’s pretty much it’s own short film. Robin’s brother Sean Pecknold directed the video, which you can watch below.
