Posted: 09 Nov 2011 09:40 AM PST “Get Home” is an epic arrangements. An experiment with sound and pursuit of new sonic avenues, the only constant being Bastille‘s lead Dan Smith’s distinctive voice and aforementioned love of melody. Dogtanion’s remix in particular makes for an affecting listen as it gradually builds to the most colossal wall of vocoder harmonies since Bon Iver's 'Woods'. MP3: Get Home (Dogtanion Remix) by Bastille A funky bass-heavy bounce take on Little Dragon‘s “Ritual Union” from Captain Planet. More remixes from him coming soon (Katy B, Pimps Of Joytime, Shawn Lee, Los Chicharrons, Chip Wickham…). Don’t say we didn’t warn you! MP3: Ritual Union (Captain Planet Remix) by Little Dragon New bootleg from Chris Minus! A remix of the classic 1994 track, “I Believe” by Happy Clappers. It get a but teched up with a “dubsteppy” breakdown at 3:35. Make sure to visit his fruitful soundcloud here. MP3: I Believe (Chris Minus Overcooked Remix) by Happy Clappers vs. Chris Minus & Felix Cooper Dems is the brand-new London three-piece of multi-instrumentalists David Gardener, Duncan Mann and Dan Moss make stirring electronica embellished with interweaving melodies, elements of warp-esque IDM and the kind of bone-rattling bass now synonymous with their city. Their debut “House” is a wonderful marriage of blissed-out guitars and forward thinking beats whilst Dan's astonishing vocal will cut right through you. Jean Nipon seems to agree. Fear of Tigers: The Remixes Pt. 2 Posted: 09 Nov 2011 09:00 AM PST In prepping for their upcoming headlining show in London at 93 Feet East Fear of Tigers have put together a 48 minute musical ride for all of us to enjoy. The continuous remix track is loaded to the brim with KKS favorites and a few artists we are happy to be introduced to. Fear of Tigers take each track and infuse it with driving synth, dark beats and a sound meant for sweaty, dancey nightclubs. They start off the the whole ride with Vanbot who really is an amazing artist, that if you don’t know I recommend you remedy this RIGHT NOW by checking out my previous post on her HERE. Along with Vanbot there is Ellie Goulding, Bright Light Bright Light, The Sound of Arrows and her royal highness Queen of Hearts, who is featured on our November Mixtape. The remix is 48 minutes sure to get you in the mood to get out the office door and get to the nearest happy hour and enjoy the last fleeting minutes of sunlight and warmth before winter fully sets in. Anyone who is going to this show, know that I am insanely jealous! Thankfully my girl Friday (Jen) will be at the show and reporting back about what I am sure will be one amazing electro-pop event!! Joker: The Vision (Let Me Breathe) (Feat. Jessie Ware) Posted: 08 Nov 2011 12:05 PM PST Liam McClean, aka Joker, whose hype has steadily increased over the past year as a leader in grime, dubstep production, finally released his full-length debut dubbed The Vision. Many critics expected a better display of his producer’s power and confidence and instead felt a reliance on formula and crippling indecisiveness. Though the album may be too erratic to have a lasting impact on the majority of casual listeners, allow me to cherry pick from this pack of wildly different cards to highlight Let Me Breathe featuring Jessie Ware. Joker’s signature production genius smothered in ricochet-vocals hitting all the right spots in a pinball worthy playing field of sounds. As host of a full house of high rollers, Joker for the win. Game over. MP3: The Vision (Let Me Breathe) (Feat. Jessie Ware) by Joker |
