[CONTEST] Stories Beats Stuff – WIN crazy trips to New Zealand! Posted: 23 Nov 2011 01:46 AM PST What do The Naked and Famous, The Checks, Flight of The Conchords, and The Lord Of The Rings films all have in common? New Zealand! And now the awesome country is giving us non-Kiwis a chance to visit their sheep-filled land with the Stories Beat Stuff concert series. Tourism New Zealand is giving away six huge vacation packages over the next 12 months and anyone can win! The first two packages are open now. Summer Rhythm includes a two week road trip, the Rhythm and Vines music festival, and what The Guardian has called one of the best New Year celebrations in the world. As if that wasn’t already epic enough, Beaches and Boats includes 2 weeks of exploring the Bay of Islands (144 of them!) as well as dolphin swimming, unparalleled scuba diving, and general fun in the sun. Now that we are all drooling over these vacation, how can we win? Well the Stories Beat Stuff contests are based around the idea that stories are worth more than possessions and so what “stuff” would you be willing to give up to go on one of these story-factory trips? All you have to do is make a video (or take a picture) of what you would be willing to give up and then your peers (and Tourism New Zealand) will select a winner. I’m guessing your childhood blankey won’t be a big enough item. Get creative! Be funny! I want to see a Burning Ear shirt in photos from these trips! Here is my entry into the contest!
