After premiering on Kissy Sell Out’s Radio 1 show, RAC have finally dropped their remix of Body Language’s ‘Holiday’. A fun slice of electro-pop, this reworking makes ‘Holiday’ the tropical club track we’ve been waiting for. A perfect snippet of summer, both the original and this remix have the potential be massive with clubbers the world over.

Jersey Shore duo Brick + Mortar are set to resuscitate indie-rock with thei brand of intense guitar coupled with engaging lyrics. Having released their debut EP ’7 Years In The Mystic Room’ over a year ago, they’ve recently returned with ‘Heatsroke’, a raucous belter of a track. With angsty vocals and powerful drums, ‘Heatstroke’ and ‘For Yellow Walls’ are kick-ass and demand repeatedly listening. Watch out for Brick + Mortar on their tour (dates on their site).

Stream/Review: Drake – Take Care

Posted: 15 Nov 2011 11:27 AM PST

Our friend Anthony from the Needledrop created a video review for Drake’s new album Take Care, released today. We really couldn’t have said it better ourselves. The new album does provide big improvements from its previous release but it still leaves you overdosed on Drake, with over 80 long minutes of him. Some collaboration and features do give the album greater dynamics but unfortunately they also add a lot of filler. A clearly softer album showing his sensitive side, but many times things take a turn for the corny side. Either way a great video review to watch for anyone interested in the album. What are your thoughts? Comment below.

Radiohead – Codex (Deadmau5 Cover)

Radiohead Codex Deadmau5 Cover Radiohead Codex (Deadmau5 Cover)

We have seen the Mau5 go house, we have seen him go dubstep but have we ever seen him go Radiohead? If you are not already a Radiohead fan, this will probably just be some boring track that will make you wonder why is deadmau5 bugging out? However, being huge fans of the mostly-overrated-but-we-dont-really-care-we-still-love-them band Radiohead, this new cover provides a much richer take on the original with softer electronic elements that still sound very organic. Deadmau5 takes care of the track by providing long gentle strings and nurtures it with a beautiful humming bassline that extends all the way throughout the song.

[Drumstep] Figure – Dominate

Fans of Figure are completely spoiled. A sure favorite with all of us at The Music Ninja, the small-town-huge-sound producer Josh Gard releases free new tracks almost every other week, tracks that any dubstep fan would be happy to pay for. Today, just a couple hours ago he unleashed “Dominate”, an experimentation of sound and style. He explains, “Made just for my live sets to stir things up a bit, Dominate embodies all the genres that I play and produce… an example of how i approach similar synth structures within various tempos. Took myself on a ride creating it. Hope it’s just as much fun on the other side. Enjoy.”

The track is nothing but a heavy and fast genre bending ride combining Drum n Bass, Dubstep and heavy on the glitch. You can support him by getting the track directly off his website free to download.

[Throwback] Hungry Kids of Hungary – Scattered Diamonds

Every so often, while we’re trolling the internet for new tunes, we come across something really awesome. We get excited, and start writing a post and then we realize it’s been out for some time. So while we like to keep it fresh for you, sometimes we have to post a throwback or two.

This particular throwback comes all the way from down under. Hungry Kids of Hungary, who are really are of Brisbane, have a youthful sound that’s truly infectious. They have sounds that echo Vampire Weekend, but maintain their unique style through simplistic vocal harmonies and backup vocals. This track below was released last year in October as a part of their debut album, Escapades.

So, we’re sorry we missed it. Especially because this would have been a sweet summer tune to chill out to. But, any way you shake it up – these guys are talented. They have a feel good sound that makes you want to just have fun and smile.

The Bloody Beetroots – Church Of Noise (feat. Dennis Lyxzén)

Church of Noise Bloody Beetroots The Bloody Beetroots Church Of Noise (feat. Dennis Lyxzén)
“Church of Noise is where dance music ends and the rebellion begins…
It is the temple where electronica and rock collide….
Church of Noise is where we will make our own rules and create our own world.”

Church of Noise, the brand new song from The Bloody Beetroots, seems to have a higher purpose than to just make us lose our minds, equipped with own manifiesto. The Bloody Beetroots have been evolving with every release, which in the current state of EDM, it is refreshing to see new directions from established artists.

The clash between rock and electronica, the aggressive uprising beat calling for freedom over the boring and the normal, to rise and resist, to live and take it all back, “Church Of Noise” tries to be just more than a song, and completely succeeds. It was released today on beatport featuring the vocals of Dennis Lyxzén, famously known for being the lead vocalist for Swedish hardcore punk band Refused. The year is not over yet but I expect this song to be the anthem of 2011.
