Posted: 17 Nov 2011 10:33 AM PST I’m pretty confident I’m the most devoted Lily Allen fan alive. It’s not fair when an artist steals your heart then goes on an extended holiday. Luckily, folks like our new friend Mattanoll keep the Brit in rotation with his rework of Everyone’s At It. MP3: Everyone’s At It (Mattanoll Remix) by Lily Allen The Tune In Crew kidnap Kelly Rowland’s Lay It On Me to give it a progressive, melting electro kick now even better designed to set the dance floor ablaze. MP3: Lay It On Me (Tune In Crew Remix) by Kelly Rowland (Feat. Big Sean) This bitch. Cry Wolf‘s remix of Mr. Little Jeans newest, The Suburbs, kept KKS from hitting #1 on Hypem’s pop chart last week. The track is larger than most speakers, so how could we not forgive everyone involved? Instead, we relate. MP3: The Suburbs (Cry Wolf Remix) by Mr. Little Jeans Somewhat confusing band names – however, no confusion as to the quality of talent involved. Adventure Of rework Is Tropical’s latest single, Lies. It’s samba and ethnic flavors speak well to both band names, don’t you think? MP3: Lies (Advenure Of Remix) by Is Tropical |

Posted: 17 Nov 2011 09:37 AM PST The much anticipated second album from Denver-based Tennis, Young and Old, is set for release February 14th, 2012 on Fat Possum Records. For their forthcoming album guitarist Patrick Riley, vocalist Aliana Moore and drummer James Barone headed to Nashville to work with The Black Keys' Patrick Carney. The first single from these sessions, "Origins," will be released on limited edition blue 7" vinyl on December 6 via Forest Family Records, here. After the success of their first album and touring for the better part of a year that included shows as far away as Moscow, Riley and Moore returned home and realized what was initially a bedroom-recording project had quickly evolved into a band. The challenge of a second record was upon them, but songwriting came quickly and in three months the duo had most of the material for their new album. The goal this time was to mature and vary their sound. Riley describes the new direction as "Stevie Nicks going through a Motown phase." By the time they hooked up with Carney, they had fleshed out most of the songs that would comprise Young and Old. With their friend and mentor at the producer helm, the recording progressed naturally and within 3 weeks the album This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

March suddenly seems so far away. Be sure to check out the full ‘Home Again’ video premiering on Vevo tomorrow Friday, November 18th. Posted: 16 Nov 2011 12:02 PM PST Click here to view the embedded video. The quirky powerhouse of pop from Brazil, CSS, is back with their rebellious and liberating track ‘City Grrrl’. In an interview I worked on for TNG with CSS‘s Lovefoxx I learned that this track was inspired by São Paulo drag queens who would defy norms to come into the city and be the carefree, flamboyant and powerful people they are and not care about what was thought of them. In the end ‘City Grrrl’ is a huge anthem about going after what you want and not giving a flying f**k about what anyone says you can’t do. They are currently touring all over Europe, so if you are a fan check HERE for tour dates and grab a ticket. You can tell by the bright colors, vibrant sound, and boundless energy of ‘City Grrl’ that these guys put on one GREAT show. You can also get a free download of ‘Hits Me Like A Rock‘ if you head to their official site. |
