[music video]: The Big Pink – Hit The Ground (Superman) Posted: 16 Nov 2011 07:50 PM PST The Big Pink have released a music video for new single, “Hit The Ground (Superman)”, a song that we first heard the other day. The video gives off a hazy impression do to it’s slow motion and duel screen shots provided by director Tim Brown. It’s a cool watch. Check it out after the jump. |
[music video]: The Rapture – Sail Away Posted: 16 Nov 2011 05:07 PM PST The Rapture’s Luke Jenner has an epic encounter with a shiny silver bag in their music video for “Sail Away”. It’s their first music video in nearly 4 years. Not much in the video makes sense, which is probably what they and director Kris Moyes were going for. Watch the video below. See if you can make some sense out of it all. The Rapture – Sail Away (short version) from DFA Records on Vimeo. |
[music video]: Black Light Dinner Party – Gold Chain Posted: 16 Nov 2011 02:47 PM PST Last week I posted Black Light Dinner Party’s new jam “Gold Chain” and now there’s a music video. It shows the grimy journey of a gold chain that makes it’s way through the neighborhood. It even features Ron Jeremy. Go figure. Watch the video below.

Tyler The Creator Announces New Album: Wolf Posted: 16 Nov 2011 08:43 AM PST In Spin’s lengthy profile on Odd Future, Tyler The Creator speaks about his new album Wolf, the follow-up to Goblin. The album is looking at a potential May release. Tyler says The Stepkids influenced the work on his new album a great deal. Tyler promises to leave behind the rather grotesque content matter that have turned so many people away from Tyler’s music, on this new album. He told Spin:
Probably a smart decision. I’m a fan of Tyler but it’s kind of hard to listen to him around my siblings and more…innocent friends. He’s only 20 years old, give him time. He’s on a path for even bigger and better things, which is saying a lot. |
Emay – Igneous ROCKstar // No Sign Posted: 16 Nov 2011 12:30 AM PST It’s been a little while since we’ve last heard from Ontario rapper/producer Emay. He’s been busy working on his debut full-length album, Adam, which should be arriving sometime between December and January. In the meantime he’s shared with us, “Igneous ROCKstar” & “No Sign”, two new tracks that aren’t on the album. But that’s not to say that these cuts aren’t worthy of your time. I assure you that they most certainly are. Smooth production and smart, level-headed lyrics grace both tracks, no surprise for those of you who have been following this young man. Not many artist in general, of any genre, are making as refreshing sounds as my man Mubarik Adams. There’s no denying this after you listen to both tracks. You have the option to stream/download both of the tracks below. Emay has given you his blessing. So, what are you waiting for? MP3 links below. [mp3]: Emay – Igneous ROCKstar |
The Orwells – Halloween All Year Posted: 16 Nov 2011 12:09 AM PST The Orwells are a band hailing from the suburbs of Chicago. They recently released their third album, Remember When. A track that really stood out to me is “Halloween All Year” an awe inspired epic jam that calls to mind a mix of Edward Sharpe and The Horrors. It’s got a big heart and kinds of ambition. It’s a song that would sound right late at night after you’ve had a few, when you’re desperate and hungry enough to go get what you’ve been searching for. If Halloween sounded like this, it would be fine to make it a year long holiday. Stream the whole album here. |
