Two of the most eclectic and exciting electronic artists to emerge from New Zealand in recent times have teamed up to bring you this ethereal remix. Jazz student turned laptop producer and darling of the New Zealand indie scene Pikachunes reworks the new single ‘Smash It’ from fierce Kiwi electro-pop sensation Zowie, drenching her futuristic stomp-pop joint in swirling analog synths and chill wave vibes with dreamy results.

Dopeshoes, born Kristen Zwicker, grew up in Seattle, but by the summer of 2004 she had had her fill of rainy days and headed south to sunny San Diego. She started DJing soon after, and in the coming years played venues and radio spots all over Southern California. She has released a number of mixes, the success of which eventually earned her entry into Homegrown Blends, a highly respected collective of DJs and artists based throughout California.

In late 2010, Dopeshoes relocated to Brooklyn, New York. By day, she works at Turntable Lab and writes for the popular events publication Time Out New York. By night, she DJs at venues throughout New York City. Check out her skills below with her rework of Little Dragon’s “Twice”.
