[8 Days of Kicksmas 2011] Favorite Band/Group: Metronomy

It’s not only because Little Boots says so. Okay, maybe just a little. But that doesn’t change the fact that she’s right: Metronomy are indeed more than worthy of the title, “Favorite Band/Group.” I remember the first time “The Look” stepped into prominence this year–a different, paradoxical, and amazing vibe. Like skinny jeans relaxed. And each member of the band contributes to my idolization. There is no doubt I will never be as cool as their bass player, Gbenga Adelekan, and don’t even get me started with Anna Prior on drums. Joseph Mount knew fair well what he was doing when forming the group with those two, and then commissioned multi-instrumentalist, Oscar Cash, to round out my favorite band of 2011. A band that isn’t going anywhere in 2012 and years to come. That makes a Merry Christmas and year for everyone.
