[Video] Dana Falconberry – Petoskey Stone Posted: 15 Dec 2011 12:10 PM PST
Dana Falconberry – Petoskey Stone from One Story Productions on Vimeo. Texan singer-songwriter Dana Falconberry’s released the video for one of her new tracks, ‘Petoskey Stone’. It’s a gorgeously delicate folk-influenced track with Dana’s crystal-clear vocals soaring above the gentle instrumentation. The clip features Dana walking in the great outdoors, intermingled with scenes of her performing the song with her band. A sweet track with lots of heart, ‘Petoskey Stone’ is on Dana Falconberry’s forthcoming EP ‘Though I Didn’t Call It Came’, available on January 24. [via My Old Kentucky Blog] |
Tiesto Remixes The Mission Impossible Theme Posted: 15 Dec 2011 10:54 AM PST I am having a really hard time liking this song. It is nostalgic enough because it is remixing the theme of one of the most badass movies of all time (MI:2 sucked incredibly hard tho) but this remix feels more like it was done in the 90′s than nearing 2012. Tiesto samples the original notes adding a very house/techno-like feel that just seems to be all over the place. Not at all what I expected from Tiesto, and yet I am not very surprised. I would gone after artists like Zedd, Porter Robinson or even Deadmau5 before asking Tiesto to update such an iconic song. Am I alone here? What do you guys think? Jack Beats – End of Love (Original Mix) Posted: 15 Dec 2011 09:18 AM PST We have been pretty huge fans of Jack Beats, their Get Down Vip remix still to this day resurfaces to most of all our electro playlists. “End of Love” is their latest release featuring a romantic latin flavor cumbia-like song that soon turns into a gritty and filthy electro-bounce track with sprinkled wobbles. Not sure if the track actually samples the original “Dance Me to the End of Love” by Leonard Cohen but it definitely plays a homage using its phrase. This is a great track to spice things up and change directions without being overly aggressive in a Moombahtoon night. Get it now on Beatport. [Hip/Hop] XV – 27 Club (prod. by The Awesome Sound) Posted: 15 Dec 2011 08:56 AM PST There has been rumors that XV will be dropping another full release before the end of the year, and whether that will come true or not, his latest single “27 Club” is definitely enough to make you wait a while longer. The track is in reference to the infamous “club” of musicians that have all passed away at the age of 27 including blues singer and musician Robert Johnson, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and most recently Amy Winehouse.

Spencer & Hill – One Touch Away (DallasK Remix) Posted: 15 Dec 2011 08:37 AM PST A bit ashamed that we missed this track a couple months back but just had to make sure more people heard it. Dallas “DallasK” Koehlke, is an Orlando dj/producer that has been on the rise for more than a year, moreso in the last 6 months supported by Sander Van DoSpencer & Hill – One Touch Away (DallasK Remix)orn, Benny Benassi and BT among others. DallasK’s latest remix of ‘One Touch Away’ is not a complete departure from the original but with tight tweaks to the build ups and drops, he elevates the track a couple of filthy notches. Feist – How Come You Never Go There (Beck Remix) Posted: 15 Dec 2011 08:16 AM PST ‘How Come You Never Go There‘ off Feist latest album ‘Metals’ is a slow and somber ballad with just enough bright melodies to still make you feel good. Her sweet voice truly comes through, even more so with the lack of instrumentation. However, this track from the Canadian singer-songwriter just got a refreshing remix by no one other than Beck. With added percussion and a couple of tweaks to her soft and romantic vocals, the track has been transformed into a stellar jazzy-ish piece that is able to compete with the original. |
[Viral] ‘Have You Ever Had a Dream that you could do anything?’ Dubstep Remix Posted: 15 Dec 2011 07:57 AM PST We have all been there. Our nerves have gotten the best of us in an important situation and we become a 4 year old stuttering our thoughts. What came out as a cute video from a commercial outtake of a kid trying to tell us about a dream, soon become a viral sensation reaching more than 3 million views. The guys at Jee Juh has taken an unfortunate (but still cute) situation into a short but hilarious dubstep remix of the clip. |
