Little Cuts – Plastic Disaster

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 08:21 PM PST

Little Cuts are a new band fronted by Dave Hernandez, formerly a member of The Shins. Now that The Shins is just James Mercer, I was curious as to what Hernandez was up to. Now we have the answer.

He’s included Andrew Church on bass and Curtis James on drums (James recently left and David Weeks took over). They are releasing an EP titled Plastic Disaster on December 20th via Dirtnap Records.

The title track features a guitar line that sounds very Shins like. Sounding a bit retro and throwback, it’s a solid track throughout that I find very easy to listen. Think you will agree.

Tennis have been releasing great cover after great cover this year. With their new album Young And Old on the way, the band was able to still find time to share one more cover with us. This time they covered Broadcast’s “Tears In The Typing Pool”.

It’s gentle mood isn’t lost on Tennis who are able to cover it with ease. Fans of Broadcast, what do you think?

[music video]: LCD Soundsystem – Live Alone (Franz Ferdinand Cover)

Although LCD Soundsystem are technically no more, they still found it in there heart to drop a music video for their cover of Franz Ferdinand’s “Live Alone”. Lovers of NYC scenery, rejoice. This video captures plenty of that, and more.

Watch it after the jump.

[watch]: Arctic Monkeys “Sheffield Homecoming” Video

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 04:38 PM PST

Over the summer Arctic Monkeys played a huge homecoming show at Sheffield’s Don Valley Bowl. Their friends at Focus Creeps, who have been making the Suck It And See music videos, recorded a few songs from the performance, and the result is a cool clip called their "Sheffield Homecoming".

This is a must watch for all fans of the band, which is hopefully most of you reading this. Catch the clip below.
