Pretty much every major dubstep producer seems to hail from there as if its a national policy to slay eardrums. Meet Robbie Mackie AKA Fonik, an upcoming artist from Aberdeen, Scotland. In his track, “Pain Game”, Fonik stays true to the heavy bass tradition while pushing new boundaries with his Medieval 8-bit organ swells, legitimate music-theory-based progressions and seamless switch-ups between dubstep and four-on-the-floor beats. [Dubstep] Pretty Ugly – Pressure Posted: 08 Dec 2011 11:38 AM PST A few months ago we posted a feature on Colorado producer Daytona Velasquez. Well, he's back, only this time he's part of the dubstep tandem, Pretty Ugly. Pretty Ugly also features a friend of Velasquez, Timeline, who started making music with him back in 07'. The two worked on hip hop together before moving into dubstep. Pressure is a free release off their recently dropped EP, The Almost EP. It boasts a melodic sound with a slow build up and silky vocals. While the track does have enough choppy synth and big bass to maintain a dubstep appeal, it echoes hip hop/R&B vibes at times as well, which adds for a unique experience.
