[new]: Air — Seven Stars (Feat. Victoria Legrand) Posted: 06 Dec 2011 05:22 PM PST “Seven Stars” is a new song from Air that they are doing for a soundtrack that they did for the colored version of Georges Méliès 1902 silent film Le Voyage Dans La Lune. The silent film actually plays a big role in Hugo, one of the best films of the year. They brought on Beach House’s Victoria Legrand for guest vocals, and it’s a good result. The song displays a heavenly mood that contrasts the songs heavy percussion quite well. Take a listen below. The album will drop February 6 via Astralwerks. It’s available to pre-order here.

[new]: Miike Snow – Devil’s Work Posted: 06 Dec 2011 03:23 PM PST Miike Snow is back with a new track called “Devil’s Work” and they didn’t leave any of their pop excitment behind. It takes a different route, adding a dramatic piano and horns, but the Swedish pop-hooks are plenty. It’s good to have them back. A new album is in the works, looking at a release sometime in 2012. Andrew Bird Announces New Album: Break It Yourself Posted: 06 Dec 2011 08:55 AM PST Andrew Bird has a new album on the way. It’s called Break It Yourself and it will be released on March 6th via Mom + Pop Records. It was recorded in his Western Illinois barn, and self-produced. Bird also has released spring 2012 tour dates which you can find at his website. He’ll be playing NYC’s The Beacon Theatre on May 4/5.

They gave fans a chance to preview some of the tracks, giving us a free 6 track download of songs from the soundtrack. This is some moody music that is sure to fit beautifully with David Fincher’s vision. If you liked the music that you heard in The Social Network, you will eat this up. You can download the sampler below. The soundtrack itself is available to pre-order here. Fans who pre-ordered it on iTunes got their cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” feat.
